1. Standard Warranty Coverage
1.1 Diesel Transmission Rebuilds — 2 Years / Unlimited Miles
All diesel transmission rebuilds completed by Ozark Transmissions are covered by our 2-year, unlimited mile warranty unless otherwise stated in writing on your invoice. This includes Allison 1000/2000, 68RFE, 47RE/48RE, 5R110 TorqShift, 6R140, and other diesel platforms.
1.2 Gas & Automatic Transmission Rebuilds — 1 Year / Unlimited Miles
Gas automatic and manual transmission rebuilds are covered for 1 year with unlimited miles. This includes GM 6L80, 10L80, 4L60E, 4L80E, Ford 6R80, 10R80, Chrysler 545RFE, and other gas platforms.
1.3 CVT Transmissions — 12 Months / 12,000 Miles
Due to the unique design and wear characteristics of continuously variable transmissions, CVT rebuilds carry a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first.
What Is Covered
- Defects in parts supplied by Ozark Transmissions
- Workmanship errors directly related to the rebuild or repair
- Premature failure of internal components installed during the rebuild
- Resealing of the unit if leaks develop from workmanship
- Re-adjustment or re-calibration if shifting abnormalities result from our build
All warranty work must be performed at our facility in Timbo, Arkansas. We may repair, rebuild, or replace defective components at our discretion. The warranty period begins on the date the vehicle is returned to you.
2. Performance & Modified Vehicle Warranty
High-performance, stage-built, modified, and competition transmissions place extreme stress on drivetrain components. Because of this, our standard warranty terms do not automatically apply to performance builds.
2.1 Performance Build Warranty Terms
- Performance builds (billet converters, stage clutch packs, modified valve bodies, custom TCM tuning) are warranted on a case-by-case basis
- Any warranty coverage for performance builds must be explicitly stated in writing on your invoice or service agreement before work begins
- If no written warranty is noted, performance builds are sold as-is with no implied warranty
- Goodwill consideration may be offered at our sole discretion
Modified & Tuned Vehicles
Vehicles with engine modifications, tuning, elevated horsepower/torque output, or aftermarket performance upgrades place demands on the transmission beyond factory specifications. Ozark Transmissions reserves the right to deny warranty claims or apply reduced coverage on any vehicle where modifications have contributed to transmission failure. If your vehicle has been modified, please disclose this before we begin work so we can quote the appropriate build level and warranty terms in writing.
3. Warranty Exclusions — What Is NOT Covered
The following conditions are explicitly excluded from all warranty coverage, regardless of plan type:
Excluded from All Warranty Coverage
- Normal wear and tear on components not related to the rebuild
- Pre-existing conditions — issues with the engine, transfer case, driveshafts, axles, differential, torque converter (if not replaced by us), or other non-transmission components
- Overheating damage caused by cooling system failure, clogged transmission cooler, or external heat sources unrelated to our work
- Fluid contamination — damage caused by incorrect fluid type, water intrusion, antifreeze contamination, or fluids added by another party after delivery
- Physical damage — accidents, collisions, off-road impacts, debris strikes, or any external force
- Neglect of warning signs — continued operation of the vehicle after slipping, overheating, unusual noises, or warning lights appeared
- Improper towing or overloading — towing beyond rated capacity or operating in conditions the vehicle was not designed for
- Unauthorized repairs — if any other shop, dealer, or individual opens, inspects, or works on the transmission or related components without our prior written approval, the warranty is immediately voided
- Racing or competition use — unless the transmission was specifically built and documented for such use
- Tuning or ECU changes made after delivery that affect shift pressure, shift points, or torque converter lockup behavior
- Failure to maintain fluid — skipped fluid service intervals, running low on fluid, or not checking fluid level when symptoms are present
- Incidental or consequential damages including towing costs (unless specified in writing), rental vehicles, lost income, or other indirect costs
4. Conditions That Void the Warranty
In addition to the exclusions above, the following actions will immediately void all warranty coverage:
| Action / Condition | Result |
|---|---|
| Another shop or person opens or repairs the transmission without written authorization from Ozark Transmissions | ✗ Void — No Exceptions |
| Incorrect or contaminated fluid added after delivery | ✗ Void |
| Racing, dyno, or competition use (unless built for it) | ✗ Void |
| Engine or drivetrain modifications made after delivery that increase torque output beyond build specs | ✗ Void |
| Continued driving after warning signs (slipping, burning smell, warning light) | ✗ Void |
| Failure to follow recommended fluid change intervals | ✗ May void at our discretion |
| TCU/TCM reprogramming by another party after delivery | ✗ Void |
| Physical damage from accident, collision, or off-road impact | ✗ Void |
5. Discretionary & Goodwill Warranty
Ozark Transmissions may, at our sole discretion, offer goodwill assistance or partial coverage in cases that fall outside standard warranty terms. This is not a guarantee and is evaluated case by case based on:
- Time since service and mileage accumulated
- Condition of the vehicle and how it has been maintained
- Whether the failure appears related to our workmanship or external factors
- The customer's history and communication with our shop
Discretionary coverage is offered as a courtesy only. It does not set a precedent for future claims and cannot be demanded or assumed.
6. Maintenance Requirements to Keep Warranty Valid
To maintain warranty coverage, customers must:
- Follow recommended fluid check and change intervals (typically every 30,000 miles under normal use, or sooner for towing/heavy use)
- Use only the fluid type specified on your invoice or service documentation
- Stop driving immediately if slipping, overheating, burning smells, or warning lights appear — and contact us before driving further
- Avoid towing beyond your vehicle's rated towing capacity
- Not allow any other person or shop to open or service the transmission without contacting us first
Fluid Tip: Most transmission failures we see are related to fluid issues — wrong fluid, low fluid, or contaminated fluid. Check your transmission fluid level and condition regularly. If it looks dark, smells burnt, or has particles in it, call us before the problem gets expensive.
7. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Stop Driving the Vehicle
If you notice slipping, unusual noises, hesitation, or a warning light — stop driving immediately. Continued operation can cause additional damage and may void your coverage.
Contact Us Right Away
Call (870) 499-2082 or email info@ozarktransmissions.com. Do not take the vehicle to another shop first — doing so voids the warranty.
Provide Your Service Information
Have your name, vehicle year/make/model, date of service, and invoice number ready. Describe the problem and when it started.
Bring the Vehicle to Our Shop
All warranty work is performed at our Timbo, AR facility. You are responsible for transporting the vehicle to us unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We will inspect, diagnose, and discuss the repair plan with you.
We Evaluate and Repair
We will determine whether the failure is covered under warranty. If covered, repair or replacement is at no charge. If the failure is due to an excluded condition, we will provide a written estimate before proceeding.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the covered transmission components as described in this policy. It is the only warranty offered by Ozark Transmissions unless different written terms are provided on your invoice.
Ozark Transmissions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including but not limited to towing fees, rental car costs, lost wages, lost income, or lost time — except where specifically agreed to in writing.
Nothing in this policy is intended to reduce or expand your rights under applicable Arkansas or federal consumer protection law. Some limitations may not apply in all jurisdictions.
